Walk on Girl
03:51
|
|||
I was drunk one evening
I strolled into a bar
I heard this lady say to a pappy
who the hell is this drunken guy, she said:
Walk on boy, walk on and tell me your name
Ain’t seen your face in my crazy old place
And I just wanna know your game
So I walked up this lady
We drank and laughed till 5 am
Until the point I kept staring at her boobies,
she slapped my face and she said:
Walk on boy, walk on out my bar
There ain’t nobody in this whole wide world
As drunk as you now are
Well the next morning my gut told me
some advice I’d like to give to you
Son, that’s a fine woman, be good to her
And she’s gonna be good to you
Walk on boy, walk on to that bar
Hold that woman like there’s no tomorrow
and never let her go
I came around next evening
I said girl you are the one for me
She took my hand, told me that she loved me
But said before we start a kissing spree:
Walk on, boy, get your ass behind the bar
There ain’t nobody in this whole wide world
a-gonna work as hard as you are
I said, walk on girl, get your ass behind the bar
We’ll make sweat loving till the bright early morning,
and we’ll show the world just who we are.

Bristlecone Pine
03:29
|
|||
Way up in the mountains on the high timberline
there's a twisted old tree called the bristlecone pine
the wind there it's bitter and cut's like a knife
And keeps that tree holding on for dear life
Hold on it does standing it's ground
Standing as empires rise and fall down
When Jesus was gathering lambs to his fold
The tree was already a thousand years old
Now the way I have lived there is no way to tell
when I die if I'm going to heaven or hell
so when I'm laid to rest it'll suite me just fine
to sleep at the feet of the Bristlecone Pine
And as I would slowly return to this earth
What little this body of mine might be worth
It'd soon start to nourish the roots of that tree
And it would partake of the essence of me
And who knows but that as the century's turn
A small spark in me might continue to burn
As long as the sun does continue to shine
Down on the limbs of the Bristlecone Pine
By the way I have lived there is no way to tell
When I die if I'm going to heaven or hell
But I'd just soon serve out eternity's time
Asleep at the feet of the Bristlecone Pine
